Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg, Russia

The collection of the State Hermitage Museum contains more than three million works of art and artifacts of world culture. Among them are paintings, prints, sculptures and works of applied art, archaeological finds and numismatic material.

The most important architectural ensembles of the Hermitage Museum in downtown St. Petersburg is located, consists of the Winter Palace, former residence of the state of the Russian Emperor, the building of small, old (good) and New hermitages, the Hermitage Theatre and the additional house. The museum complex also includes the Menshikov Palace and the east wing of the General Staff building, the Staraya Derevnya Restoration and Storage Centre and the Museum of the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory.
