Open Air Village Museum

The idea of founding an open-air museum in Lublin was born in 1960. The initial phase was the establishment of an independent entity for the Department of Public Architecture in the District Museum in Lublin. On 1 January, 1970 the department into an independent Lublin last Open Air Village Museum.

According to initial plans of the Lublin Open Air Village Museum is located in Kalinowszczyzna area and cover the area of 12ha. Was given because of difficulties in acquiring land necessary for this specific activity in 1975, the museum of the new 27ha area in the suburban district Slawinek.

This exhibition is divided into seven sectors in the museum was - Lublin Upland, Roztocze, Vistula region Podlasie, Bug region and the castle and city sectors.

* "The Parade of the Chamber of Lublin and the Lublin region 100 years ago and now - to disappear, the professions and not disappear"- in 2000 - an award.
